Training for Academicians

PHS Training Series for Academicians is organized by USM Library in cooperation with The Centre for Development of Academic Excellence (CDAE) starting January 2020. The aim of this program is to highlight various research tools that will help the researchers to produce high quality research efficiently. Currently, three courses are offered:

  • Online Research Tips for Effective Searching Strategy

Course/Training Objective The main objective of this training is to introduce some of the research support tools which can help the researchers to find and produce high-quality research with efficiency.

    • Optimize Your Researcher Profile for Better Visibility

Course/Training Objective The main objective for this training is to increase the visibility of researchers and the valuable works they are undertaking
Course/Training Overview To develop and optimize online researcher profiles to increase visibility. By having researcher profile, it will connect you and your research and make your scholarship highly discoverable through many different platforms and systems, as well as help users reach author-specific information more quickly and effectively:

  4. Google Scholar ID
  • Research Visibility Tools for Researchers

Course/Training Objective The main objective of this training is to optimize research visibility tools to showcase their research outputs for greater impact.
Course/Training Overview To optimize Social Media tools and change the ways in which researchers undertake research, and open up new forms of communication and dissemination via:

  1. Mendeley Web
  2. LinkedIn
  3. Research Gate
  4. Academia.edu
  5. Registry of Open Access Repositories
  6. Kudos

Registration for each course can be done via MyCPD at Campus Online USM.
